"A form stands out from a background through sharp and contrasting colors and through a precise and demanding line. No misstep is tolerated, neither in color nor in the stroke.

Inherited from his training as an architect, a technical and artistic discipline, and a great sensitivity. Everything in his painting must be observed in light of his years as an architect and the visual and poetic impact that the atmospheres and landscapes surrounding him may have had.

The form always evokes something for me, although I'm not quite sure what. A flower? A fault? A ribbon? Playing hide and seek with my senses, there is something playful even though everything seems ultimately serious. But as Pierre Wat says, 'Renouncing recognition opens the gaze,' and looking at a work by Ludovic Philippon is to escape and let one's imagination roam.

The colors, boldly embraced, are remarkable for their power: orange, yellow, red, blue, green, black, etc. They contribute to the tension and density of the paintings. The artist also speaks of 'the path of color,' as if they were the starting point of his pictorial journey.

Like the artist, it is an intimate and solitary painting in front of which one wishes to remain alone, in silence.

Like the artist, it is a humble, minimalist, and touching painting."
