IDEAT " Visite privée chez Laure Baulme, fondatrice de Pigalle Matignon"

Last spring, I met Laure Baulme, the founder of Pigalle Matignon. Coming from an art-loving family, this passionately smiling woman had the idea (after years of working in large cosmetic companies) to follow her desires and collaborate closely with artists and creators she appreciates. She builds relationships with them, and they create unique, signed, and numbered pieces for her. It's a way of approaching art in her own manner, with her unique perspective but with the touch of another. Regularly, a new object—a lamp, a stele, a mirror—is born from this collaboration. It's a design gallery of a new kind, where small furniture and accessories are presented through videos and photos that also showcase the creator behind each piece.

This captivating idea already has enthusiasts, and the first pieces can be found in Laure's apartment, where she, her husband Emmanuel, and their two sons, Théophile and Arthus, graciously opened their doors to me. The place reflects Laure—simple and bright, featuring her love for art with the pieces she publishes and also artworks acquired from places like Amélie Maison d'Art, Wilo & Grove, Lucia Sellier, and Matchi Art. As a fortunate coincidence, I have also photographed the apartments of three of these founders—just click on their names to take the tour.

It's a warm and well-thought-out space with a playroom adjacent to the living room, which is so practical when you have little ones without being overwhelmed by toys. In Laure and Emmanuel's bedroom, there's a Japanese staircase that also serves as a shelf—functional and clever. I invite you to enter, look around, and get inspired... Enjoy your visit!
