Enter the heart of the matter.
Get to the point.
With accuracy.
Our 4 artists, each in their own way, go to the essential, use “less” to reach “more”. A time of withdrawal. A certain economy of means, the elimination of the excess, a necessary discipline, a decisive rigor and a primordial mastery of the objectives.
Hélène Durdilly study the relation to the void. The background material, rugged, alive, whitened with gesso which is crossed by straight black lines traced with certainty.
In artworks by Laurence Garnesson feels the commitment of the body in painting. Imagine almost the physical impetus of the route that travels with conviction the canvas or the paper. A lyrical energy and mastered.
In Louise Frydman’s works are the pure natural and mineral forms. They are self-sufficient, without colour or artifice. In motion or motionless, it is light that brings a complementary dimension to these ceramics that leave you dreamy.
Very suggestive essential, almost invisible are works by Marine Vu. The artist works under the surface of the canvas. The motif takes shape in the canvas or the paper itself. We show without showing. We feel. Almost absent the pattern is gradually revealed between the shadow and the light that come to meet the surface of the work.
The time of the essential. In the heart.
