Founded in Milan in 2006, Studiopepe is the design and architecture agency of Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto. Their backgrounds in design and interior architecture for one and in industrial fine arts for the other complement each other and are at the origin of a singular creation between art and design and between installations and formal studies.
Synesthesia designates the association of two different sensory spheres, which thus enter into a relationship. This meeting is a source of creativity, mixture, movement and vision. In Arianna and Chiara's creative process, this notion of synesthesia is fundamental. In this new exhibition of Studiopepe in Paris, it is the association of raw materials and finished products, art and craft, utilitarian and imaginary that is at stake. Unique pieces are revealed for the first time: Animaletti, a family of hand-painted zoomorphic ceramics whose gestures can be found in large ceramic dishes; Ossimori, a selection of unique pieces in various materials that combine to create small sculptural installations; and Composizione, large abstract works made on handmade Indian paper.
